Prior to the trip, I spent about 8 hours printing out a map from Google Maps of San Diego using photoshop, scissors and sctoch tape. It took a long time, but while constructing it I became familiar with the terrain, names of streets and some location. If we did not have this I would have really freaked out. SD is not that hard to get around if you have a map. SR was my navigator and we did pretty good. But I freaked out a couple of times, "Which lane?! Right or left?!", "Ok, then what?!" "How many miles?"
SR was a saint.
