Cafe Opera, finally.

We got here but it was kinda stressful. SR and I got into a tiny spat. I was freaking out because of directions and time limit and trying to find parking. I was getting frustrated too easily. But when we got here I was able to calm down. Things got better afterwards but in hindsight I see I got things to work on and what situations I really don't need to get riled up about. This is the first vacation SR and I have gone on. It was an unfamiliar place and after all the things I have just got out of, it's tough but good to look back to try to prevent this in the future. I have to be patient about where I am at. Hopefully I will be a late bloomer.

Finding our way to Cafe Opera

After seaport we went to drive to the place where I purchased at Groupon. Reminiscent of driving in NYC. I believe this is the gas lamp district. This was also reminiscent of NYC parking. Horrendous. We made reservations beforehand, and it's a good thing because they might closed. But we got there just in time because finding parking took so long.

1-2-3 in the dark

These are the shots that came out. Below are the test and the failed attempts.

KING ME!

Giant checkers at a seaport book store. SR with that camera instinct took this shot.

Seaport Carrousel

SR gets a little dizzy on the merry-go-round but we took a picture in front of it. I like this composition here. Her clothes match the background very well, no? I almost look like I have a bowl cut.

Korean-Filipino-American

Seaport

After Kayaking Sr really wanted to check out Seaport. It was kinda like our wonderful Mystic Seaport. We found free parking that was about 4 NYC blocks from where we wanted to go. It was a nice walk.
We also saw this pretty cool monument dedicated to soldiers who fought in the Pacific fighting for freedom, I believe.

Post Burger: Frozen Yogurt

Sr was really wanting frozen yogurt because we saw this really cool fill it up yourself place for the stuff on the way back from kayaking. Being the considerate person she is, she made sure she got some non-dairy rasberry yogurt so I could eat some, which was very sweet of her. Pun not intended. With all the nuts sprinkles and toppings it was actually delicious. Thanks dear for sharing.

Post Kayak = Burgers

We were so hungry and hunger is the best sauce. Like SR said these burgers were aiigt. But since we were so hungry they were so good. It was nice and hot that day. It was one of those few days where I was reminded of childhood, summer and the Philippines. On these occasions I order a Coke.

Kaya mo, kuya mag-kakayak

These are the only photos since we still have to develop the aqua-camera. Stay tuned.

KAYAK SEA CAVES PT I: Finding parking

We found parking about 3 blocks away. Nice stroll. Nice views.  SR saw this purple house a with purple flowers which seemed outta place with the color scheme of SD. I took the top picture so I could remember the street intersection where I parked the Focus, just in case I would be too discombobulated after the kayaking.

Goku Morning

Breakfast and late night snack shopping at Costa Verde on the way home

Before the next morning we went to the grocery which was in the Costa Verde center, the same place as Book Star and got some goodies. Couldn't find Our Daily Red, which was the red wone sans sulfites which Tara and Skye got us hooked on. Man we were really jones'n for some red wine. Anyway SR bought some Fondue, which she thought was actually chocolates, but that was uesed for baking, but it still tasted good. we also got black olive bread which tasted interesting, some other super duper wine crackers that she bought for me but it ended up having alot of lactose in it. she felt so bad. I told her to pay no nevermind, that I was happy with chips and the bread. This held us over for breakfast for awhile. The lady at the register was very happy to serve us. Once again a foreign occurrence to us. It felt nice.
