Korea Trip 2: Headed for Narita

We boarded the plane on time. But right before, SR had to use the bath room so were pretty much the last ones to board. Then we found out that our overhead bin was filled. But another nice Japanese man let us use his and even helped SR put her heavy carry on in the bin. I followed suit and put mine their as well, but first I took out my Laptop, Kindle, Notebook and sketchbook while the guy was waiting. We find out that our pilot called in sick and there was a replacement which caused a 35 minute delay. No problem for us because we had the 6 hour layover. During out trip we watched Tron, Burlesque, and Last Airbender. SR watched more. I tried watching Airbender since it was right there in front of me and I didn't have to pay for it. It was so bad. Horrible choreography and bad acting and Soka was serious. Give me a break. But what really made me stop watching it more than the fact that the heroes were based on Asians but were were played by white actors, it was that the background characters and supporting actors were actual Asians juxtaposed with white actors playing Asians. That was the dumbest most backward thing I have seen in a long time. SR finished it. I couldn't. It deserved all those Razzie awards. It's weird, I thought M. Night was such a competent director, it's like the movie was sabotaged. Anyways Tron was decent. Nice visuals and interesting story. Burlesque was formulaic, cheesey and I rolled my eyes at some of the dialogue but laughed at some of it. I confess I do like feel good underdog stories and I enjoyed those parts,  but it seemed too tailor made for Aguilerra.
During the movies the Princess decides to tell met that her ring is in her carry on. We don't have  ID tags on our carry ons. I started to panic and decide that we should take it out the bag. I also got my computer bag and stuffed it under to the side of my seat. This bag is awesome. SR got it for me for my birthday. SO I was content as I was sketching and journaling and reading my Kindle. I was reading Imitation of Christ. The book Rizal gave to his wife before he was executed by the Spanish guards. The book is intense and quite Roman Catholic. According to the Kindle I am 94% finished with it.
I have been drawing some characters for my GN and I had like 50 straight bad ones. Then some of them seemed headed somewhere while others didn't. It was frustrating but I think I got some good leads where I can pick up from. Man it was a long trip. About 14 hours. But at least I could spend it drawing and writing! It's funny that I like something that gets me frustrated 90% of the time...
It was tough to hear each other speak because of the cabin pressure air. So SR and I communicated with hand gestures and facial expressions which we both made fun of and laughed.
The stewardesses and stewards were quite genuinely nice with a positive attitude that I would like to emulate. They were good. The food on the other hand was bad. AA has bad food. We were served frozen sandwiches. SR's was a rock. just bad. We were compensated with pretzels and cookies and ginger ale, though, so not bad! Adversity is good. Life is suffering, but when you get some nice breaks in a while, you're grateful for it.

Here's a pic of when we landed

The substitute pilot got some applause from the audience for the smooth landing.
