The best Secret Santa I ever got!

Courtesy of my very thoughtful, creative D.I.Y. sister, Amelia I got a most wonderful surprise gift this Christmas. Believe me, no one wanted to have their secret santa gift opened after Amy's. This was just really amazing.

One thing I know now is that my family and friends have skills!
It was really cool to see you all express yourselves in my favorite medium!
Please feel free to comment on people's drawings and skills .
Thanks Amy!!! It was a very touching unexpected moment. I will treasure this!
Thanks everyone for your more than kind words and your creative splurges!
I hope to see more of your creative endeavors!

Cover: Amy decided to use a piece of Skye and Tara's artwork which came out by accident as the cover.
Amy said she liked the title of a book and just put my name instead.

Page 1: Ganim
Dude, where did these skills from and how did you do this?
Ganim is the friend that I have known before kindergarten.
Thanks, man.

Page 2: Dad
Just to set the record straight I very lightly tag my dad in the gut not the face during our epic mock battles.
One of my main goals in life is making my dad laugh. I get my sense of off key humor from him.
Thanks, Dad.

Jay is Jack Bauer

If I was president Jay is my Jack Bauer. He retrieved the item and helped me orchestrate the hiding of the ring in his Wii case. He even wrote on the tape with his own hand writing so SR would not get suspicious. The man is no mole nor no rat. He kept quiet to everyone. Mission accomplished JB! Thank you Jay!

Inscription 1 Corinthians 13:4-10

This verse is my deal breaker. This is the one that helps me decide things. It helped me get out of a very bad place and into good ones. I came across this interpretation and I really like it. It is a bit different than what I usually hear so it keeps it fresh and I can look at it differently. Verses 4-7 are what SR is to me, this was a big help in making my decision. I know I have done things wrong in my life, many without knowing, but perhaps there were some right ones. Verses 9-10 help me get over not knowing all the answers now and it definitely helps me keep a deaf ear on those who say they do or act like they do. This helps me not waste my time with those kinds of attitudes and those controlled by them, so I can do the work I was meant to do and enjoy, rekindle, repair and work out my relationships with God, family and friends on my own like it was meant to be. I am beginning to believe SR was sent to help me see this. I hope I can do this for her in some manner as well.

1 Corinthians Chapter 13:4-10 NAB
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
5 it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
6 it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.
9 For we know partially and we prophesy partially,
10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.

The Ring

Beautiful craftsmanship by the retired great Hermogenes Regoso. I was blessed enough to have been part of the tradition of him doing a ring for me. He went out of his way to make a ring beyond my dreams. The diamond is from one of my mom's earrings that she doesn't wear anymore and the 2 end diamonds are from an earring from our late Lola on dad's side. Family. The 2 stones in between the diamonds are aquamarine, my birthstone. SR's birthstone is diamond. It is a symbol of our union and how she helped me stand on my own 2 feet literally and figuratively and doing so has infused her into my life, or something like that...

Goodbye Nantucket

The goofball close his eyes on purpose!

Ganim was able to borrow a car and take us to the airport. Before that he showed us the cook staff in action. One of the greatest parts of this trip is to see SR intereact with Ganim. Ganim is imbedded in my childhood. So it was neat to see  my "childhood" meet SR, if that makes any sense, and they got along fine. That was really great.

Day of Departure

This was a great time. I miss the ocean already. I learned a lot about myself during this trip. I was able to work through a couple of mazes in my head, and grow creatively and physically. It was a time needed to reflect on many things. I am beginning to see the real value of vacations. Europe has a good thing going.
